Inside Out Design, LLC is an innovative landscape and hardscape design-build firm which began in 2007 to offer clients a high quality, unique perspective on their outdoor spaces. We are
dedicated to bettering our clients’ lives and the environment by creating individualized outdoor spaces that are sustainable.
The Inside Out Design team is comprised of educated, experienced horticultural professionals who are actively involved in many professional, community, and environmental organizations. We are dedicated to making our community a better, more beautiful place to live. |

| Andrea Wilson Mueller |

Andrea Wilson Mueller is a native of Frankfort and 2003 magna cum laude graduate of the University Of Kentucky College Of Design with a Bachelors of Arts in Design. She was raised in the horticulture industry by her dad, who founded one of the largest nurseries in Kentucky. This is where she first realized her love of nature and went on to study, apprentice, and work in architecture, interior design, and landscape design. This experience makes her a well-rounded designer who can look at a project from all perspectives. Her philosophy has always been "design is design is design," meaning in all design the elements and principles are the same with an outcome which will improve the function and aesthetics of a space or object.
She is an active member of many professional organizations, including APLD (Assoc. of Professional Landscape Designers), KNLA (Kentucky Nursery & Landscape Assoc.), and ANLA (American Nursery & Landscape Assoc.). Much of her time is devoted to her family and community organizations. She serves as Vice-President for Envision Franklin County, many committees of Good Shepherd School, and enjoys participating in events such as Woodford County Humane Society Freedom Fest and Reforest Frankfort just to name a few. She has donated numerous full scale landscape designs to local schools and non-profit community organizations to promote nature in education and improve the community.

Michael Mueller |
Michael Mueller is an experienced landscape foreman and horticulture professional. He is a native of Silver Spring, Maryland and moved to Kentucky in 1995, where he managed landscape crews for 13 years. Early in life he realized his passion for the outdoors and has been in the landscape and horticulture industry since high school. He has worked in all aspects of the business and has extensive experience and knowledge in maintenance, hardscape installation, and landscape installation.
Professionally, he is an active member of KNLA (Kentucky Nursery & Landscape Assoc.) and ANLA (American Nursery & Landscape Assoc.). He also enjoys serving on committees for Ducks Unlimited (a group committed to preserving wetlands), as well as donating his time to charitable causes and non-profit community events. |

Ryan Barker is a native of Franklin County who graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Plant and Soil Science with an emphasis in horticulture enterprise management. He has worked in the horticulture profession since 2006 and joined the Inside Out Design team in 2009. |
Duane Larmour is a Kentucky native, graduating from Lexington Catholic High School where he played many sports. He attended UK where he studied computer science. After working in the technology field, he returned to his first passion, the green industry. He has 18 years experience, and in that time has embraced the roles of Crew Leader, Field Operations Manager, and Landscape/Irrigation Department Operations Manager. He is excited about his role with Inside Out Design as Hardscape and Landscape Crew Foreman, and looks forward to exceeding expectations on your project. |

Kristin Pickard grew up in Frankfort and worked for Farmers Bank for
more than ten years where she gained experience in customer service, accounting and marketing. She works part time here at Inside
Out Design and balances her life as a mother of two and volunteers as secretary for the Progeria Research Foundation. Kristin graduated from Mid-Continent University with a B.S. in Business Administration. When she is not watching her son play soccer, Kristin loves to travel, shop, read and entertain family and friends. She is usually the first person you will speak to and always has a smile. |
Jane Harrod Jane Harrod is the crew forewoman for maintenance and landscape. She has over 30 years experience in horticulture, growing, natives, restoration, and maintenance and operated Jane's Native Seeds for 22 years. Her attention to detail and expert knowledge on disease and pests will get your landscape looking it's best. |

| FAQs |
Does Inside Out Design actually install the work? YES! There are very few services that are subcontracted throughout the entire project, which gives us complete quality control.
Is IOD set up for retail? We are a service provider, NOT a retail facility, however if you have a large order (over $500) we will be happy to order your plants and any other necessary materials for you, and even deliver them to your site! Requires 4-6 weeks notice if plants aren't in stock. Does IOD offer lawn or mowing services? No, but we do offer garden maintenance and clean up as often as you wish.
Does IOD offer interior design services? No. Andrea started the company as interior space planning and landscape design, but the company is now solely landscape and hardscape design-build.
Does IOD grow their plant material? We buy almost all of our ball and burlap trees and shrubs from local Kentucky growers within 60 miles of Frankfort. This means higher quality, soil compatability, supporting local economy and farmers, and reduced shipping fuel and costs. We also purchase regionally and locally grown annuals, perennials, ornamental grasses, and shrubs when they are available. Shrub containers and perennials are also purchased out of state because the supply and variety is limited in Kentucky, but we make sure we bring you the highest quality from the very best growers! How we are different: Other local landscape companies claim to grow their plants. That's simply not the case. In fact usually the only thing they actually grow are the perennials, and the rest of the plant material is shipped from Tennessee.
What is the relationship with Wilson Nurseries? We get asked this ? on a daily basis. Andrea’s dad, Charlie Wilson, started Wilson Nurseries in 1979. Andrea worked there through middle and high school as well as after graduating college as a landscape design assistant. Michael worked there for 13 years as crew leader and eventually Vice President. In fact, this is where Michael and Andrea’s love story began. A couple years after Charlie was killed in a tragic car accident in 2003, the Wilson family figured it best to avoid conflict and are no longer affiliated with the nursery. There are no hard feelings on this end, but, there is no business relationship with Wilson’s. |
